Privacy Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run CodeStride, we do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

On this page

01What we collect

Account details: your name, email address, and the provider you used to sign in (Apple, Google, GitHub or LinkedIn). If a provider shares your name we prefill it; you can change it anytime.

Learning data: topics you complete, practice scores, code you run or submit, and how long lessons take. This powers progress tracking and lets us improve explanations that confuse people.

Billing data: your plan, renewal date and payment history. Card details are handled by Stripe or Apple and never reach our servers.

Technical and security data: your IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP, the pages and actions you use, and crash reports. We record sign-ins, purchases and other account changes together with the IP address and device they came from, so we can protect your account and investigate problems.

02How we use it

To provide the service and remember where you left off; to process payments and send receipts; to email you login codes and important account notices; to understand which lessons work and which need rewriting; and to keep the service and your account secure, including detecting fraud and abuse.

We do not sell personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.

04Sharing

We share data only with providers who help us run CodeStride: payment processing (Stripe, Apple), subscription management (RevenueCat), email delivery, hosting and database, and logging and error monitoring. Each is bound by a contract limiting use of your data to the service they provide for us.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of CodeStride and its users.

05Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember your theme preference. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

06Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or legal reasons. Anonymised learning statistics may be retained.

Request logs, which include IP addresses and browser details, are deleted after 90 days. Security records of account activity (such as sign-ins and purchases) are kept for 1 year, then deleted.

07Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data from Settings, or by emailing support@codestride.dev. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

08Children

CodeStride is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

09Changes

We will post updates here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app.
